I am from Illinois and I am SO scared for tomorrow… my heart goes out to the people affected by the recent tornados in Oklahoma and Michigan… I do not want that type of scenario happening in my area…. I pray for the people affected by these storms… 😢

I’m watching the stream from last night. Max went live at about 3am my time and I completely missed it. Prayers for those poor people who lost their lives and for their families and loved ones💔 Please take every precaution you can, if you live in a mobile home or RV please find a shelter. Have grab bags ready to go to your safe place, basement, closet etc. Take water and flashlights and stay safe.

RIP to the mother and daughter that lost their lives last night 🕊️❤️! Remember everyone never out run a tornado, get out and get in the deepest part of the ditch 💯

Checking emergency supply rotation today… Got the helmets, emergency whistles, hiking boots, and small shovels ready in the basement in case the house lands on us and we have to dig out. We survived a tornado outbreak a few years ago and it is not fun. Always amazes me how a ‘slight risk’ of tornadic weather can turn into an emergency in such a short period of time.

Detailed explanations of the meteorological factors causing early or unusual severe weather patterns (e.g., early March tornadoes).

ModerateOtherExtracted from 12 comments

I've been in Oklahoma like 10 years or so now. This is bizarre. Like he said, it was usually May this happened, but in the past 3 years or so we have had crazy tornados as early as February. The old timers say it's happened before, but it just seems so mich more consistent than they think. Feels like something is different.

And the MI tornadoes were so surprising because we I swear I’ve never heard of one happening in early March

That large and damaging tornado in MI yesterday, which was outside the SPC severe weather outlook outlined regions, really was a rare surprise. Don’t remember a tornado outbreak in MI this early when there should still be snow on the ground…. This is a rare and concerning event. Thank you Max for everything you do to keep people safe as weather patterns seem to get crazier each year.

Understanding the impact of severe weather on daily life, including infrastructure damage and personal safety concerns.

We just got hit with a tornado and a crew is out cutting up all the trees I lost, even as I type this. I really don't like hearing this at all. 😢

I saw a semi on 495N near Lowell, MA that jack-knifed so hard the trailer came off and tore up the road. The roads look like they've given up on clearing them. My heart goes out to that driver.

i literally had my entire roof replaced yesterday. please do not let hail or a tornado hit my house

6

Clarification on why official warnings (e.g., NWS sirens) are sometimes delayed or seem to miss critical events.

Strong demandVerificationExtracted from 7 comments

Remember Max is using his talents to great effect. He was pretty well urging people to share the information about one of the tornadoes forming. He was beside himself why the authorities were not putting out warnings for at least an hour. He is trying to balance the seriousness of the situation and at least stay calm. But he was frantic inside about the dangers forming. It is sad that people have got injured and lost their lives to the weather conditions. 😢 Please don't knock Max he has saved so many lives the last few years. ❤

Were the fatalities in Oklahoma last night from the tornado that the NWS was way overdue on to recognize a large tornado was ON THE GROUND?

NWS dropped the ball with the Michigan tornado. How did that even happen? God bless you Ryan!

Specific advice or considerations for vulnerable populations, such as apartment dwellers or those without basements, during tornado season.

ModerateOtherExtracted from 2 comments

I hate tornado season so much. Apartment dwellers have so few options. No lower hallway. No strong structure. No tornado shelter that accepts pets. Sigh.

I feel like so many people are so excited for such an active tornado season, but 😭 as someone who lives in Texas without a basement, and who has loved ones in the panhandle, Dallas, OKC, and KCMO, it’s just got my anxiety up so high. I hate tornado season 😭

Information tailored for specific communities or demographics, such as text message alerts for the Deaf community.

MinorHow-to / TutorialExtracted from 1 comments

Max, consider implementing personal text messages to for the Deaf community as well. It's crucial that we get alerts too and while yes, we'll know if we of all people get a phone call about something, it's serious, but text messages are still a great way to go!
