Maybe the NBA could come up with some kind of point system to award players who play the most games and base awards on points (e.g. Maybe the MVP and other regular season award candidates get bonus points for each additional game over 60 or 65). That way they don't get disqualified for going under 65, but are heavily penalized for lack of availability AND you're not leaving it up to the bias of voters. Some of the awards are based on media voters points and some of it is based on availability points, etc.
