I have lived through many typhoons on Guam. I appreciate this content creator with all the details. The homes are mostly built out of concrete which can withstand the high winds. For those in wooden or unstable homes they are at risk during something like this. I just want to say it is survivable. Typhoon Pongsonwa (spelling?) was bad but everything was fine later the hardest part is going without water or power for months. Just think of it as camping but you get to be at home. Lots of cooking outside or barbecuing because the fridge went out and you have to cook the rest of the meat so it doesn't go to waste. You can cook with Sterno or with a fire outside or on a small camping stove. I guess back then we weren't worried about how much charge our cell phone had it was much easier. Iwas in Charleston SC on John's Island when Hurricane Hugo got us. 3 trees through the house. Had to rebuild. 3 weeks with no electricity. Praise God no loss of life for us. My heart goes out to these people! I'll be praying for them.

I’m born and raised on guam been through tons of typhoons, this particular one has had me stressed the f$&k out for a week already. Too much uncertainty and very little margin for error on the path. Either was we will survive and rebuild. We always do.

Watching from GUAM USA...I live for 63 years so Im used to all the typhoons AND SUPER TYPHOONS...THE SUPER TYPHOON I EXPERIENCED WAS IN 1976 SUPER TYPHOON...WINDS WERE 220 TO 240 MPH... 90 % OF OUR HOMES ARE CONCRETE...SO ITS SAFE HERE IF U HAVE A CEMENT/ CONCRETE... WE ACTUALLY HAVE 3 HOSPITALS HERE...

I was stationed twice in Guam! JTWC Joint Typhoon Weather Center Nimitz Hill. I was an Aerographer "Navy Meteorological and Oceanography Field! My both tours there once in 1987-1989 and second tour 1994-1996 were hit by Typhoons! That was my job to forecast for ships in the largest AOR on earth! Since then, they closed The JTWC in Guam way back in 2000's and moved it to Hawaii! Where the Navy always had a Major Navy Forecaster Center! Guam is tough and a cliff surrounded mtns island on most sides. It can take a beaten and has many times been hit by some of the strongest Typhoons in the Pacific Ocean. Their Power system is vulnerable but the people there are built to last after these devastating storms! Pray for these strong friendly people! USN RET

It’s funny how it gets so extreme and builds up and gets all these views and then all of a sudden when it’s here to deliver, it ain’t nothing and it always changes when it comes right down to it. I think Weather needs a reformation on YouTube. I don’t think developing weather should be breaking news until it’s like a day before because it’s gonna change more than likely and not be what everybody’s calling it to be

For updates on the ottawa tornado, there are injuries, and my local news channel interviewed a family whos house got destroyed by it. There are no deaths as of now.

Ugh something awful blew through SE Dane county Wi at 12:50 AM central time. There are trees down everywhere snapped off 8 feet up, a storm door was shredded to pieces, and the gas grill was flipped over.
