Other than going around Mattole Loop, is there another way out of Ferndale during those extreme flood events?

I lived out Berta for a few years over the bridge and up on the hill, and it was interesting. You had to always plan ahead when the rains were coming or get stuck at home until the water receded. It was a beautiful place to live though Thanks for the drive Dock☮️💜.

thank you for showing the eel at flood stage. it makes me think about 1850's 60's 70's, the first pioneers settling.

I'm very familiar with the Eel River. I've been to Lake Pillsbury which is near the headwaters of the Eel River. My brother-in-law had some property near the Eel River and not far from Laytonville. Across the Eel was the Round Valley Indian Reservation. The Eel River is the 3rd largest watershed in California. I live next to the Columbia River in Washington. It has the largest flow of any river into the Eastern Pacific. There was a massive flood from the Columbia River in the Portland and Vancouver area in 1996, but I was living in Northern California back then.

poor dog hes scared and dont know whats going on. this made me cry thank you for saving that beautiful doggy. dont ever be scared of pits, just be weary. i have an american bandog. a bandog is a bulldog that may or not have pit and crossed with a mastiff. hes big and looks intimidating but hes friendly and soft as hell and never bitten or attacked anyone or dog. my female mastiff shes the same both lovely friendly sociable dogs but the female mastiff is reactive to other dogs. i feel its dominance.
