Just saw on another channel that the lock at the Cheboygan dam has been opened to allow more flow. Don't know how helpful it would be but it is at least something.

They did not release the water like they could have for the last month, toss them in jail!

Why don't they open the locks to relieve some water? I think that would be better than losing the dam.

There Is more problems down south further hardy dam and croton damn both having problems , they want to close them instead of fixing them.

We're getting a lot of water here....fix the dams already. Michigan infrastructure is in rough shape.

I live on Sanford Lake and am currently watching the lake being refilled, at great expense to taxpayers and residents. The total failure of the Edenville and Sanford dams in 2020 destroyed many, many homes and businesses. It’s only by the grace of God that no lives were lost in the failure of that system. All of this was preventable. Federal officials passed the buck to the State and the State just made things worse. The lawsuit against the State for its role in those failures is still pending. But it seems no lessons were learned. 🤦‍♀️

The Cheboygan Dam and Lock Complex is managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR Parks and Recreation Division oversees the structure, with key operations and safety monitoring conducted in coordination with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The complex involves both a DNR-managed lock/dam and a privately owned hydroelectric facility.

FERC is a dysfunctional and overly political federal agency that is not capable of doing what they were created for. All they ever do is make things over complicated and excruciatingly slow.

It is a privately owned hydro that generated for the paper plant. Its is not anything near what this propaganda is stating. FERC would not be involved with this as it never generated into the Bulk Electric System. Complete nonsense for views.

There were two hurricanes in the past century that were worse than this, one in 1959 and I think the other one in 1996.
