Why in the hell would a father buy his 14 yr. old son an AR-15 ?

This father was arrogant when police first spoke about sins threats….. minimized, now he’s looking at prison….take threats seriously, or you’ll end up in court, but any parent would rather you man up and lock guns up away from children instead of arming them when they aware of child’s mental health

The question is why are there so many young people now with mental health issues?

It’s so crazy he remembers things from years ago like disagreements with previous landlords, but doesn’t remember his son’s elementary school teacher saying he has serious anger issues?

LOCK HIM TF UP AND THE MOTHER TOO!!! Sorry not sorry! Their son actively showed CLEAR signs that he was f’d up in the head and they ignored it over and over! He talked about unaliving people, he talked about taking his own life, he had extreme anger and emotional issues, he previously made threats, he verbalized that he was gonna do something and that he was messed up in the head, he verbalized that he was reaching out to a previous school shooter, he clear as day had pictures and articles of that school shooter on the walls in his room, you had guns and ammo just laying around, bought him his own gun, he was taking Zoloft that WASNT HIS nor ordered by his doctor etc… They were both neglecting their child and their responsibilities as parents and that 1000% led to what happened!!

Dad is all boo hoo now but knew his mental health issues and gave him guns. Hope he does jail time.

I’m so glad prosecutors are starting to go after the parents in these school shootings. Here’s a clear cut example of a parent totally responsible.

A high school of that size should have metal detectors

They should have an officer do bag checks before kids enter the school like at concerts. This was spine-chilling to watch. He was so invisible to everyone.

I saw NO teacher teaching . I have been out of school for many years , but do not teachers teach anymore?

As a parent and an educator I am absolutely enraged by this despicable excuse for a father. He blames everyone else for everything. Takes no responsibility for anything! I can count off at least 5 of the worst possible “mistakes” any parent can make…. And he is supposed to be the “responsible parent “?!? WTF??? It wouldn’t take me 5 minutes to find him guilty of everything and I’d wanna add some charges of my own lol. IMO the “mother figure” should be facing charges as well … child neglect, endangerment… idk just something!

*Did anyone watch and listen to the interaction with the dad and the killer when they were on the front porch, talking to the cops?* *THE DAD WAS HIS SON'S FRIEND, NOT A DAD.* *THAT'S WHY HIS SON, IN PART, TURNED OUT AS HE DID.* *NO GUIDEANCE AND NO STRUCTURE IN THE HOME, A SURE RECIPE FOR A FUTURE DISASTER, AND IT HAPPENED.* *THE DAD IS ALSO A LOSER.*

Man has school ever changed from when I was a kid . Kids on phones , no interaction with the teachers or other students . Just weird .

And no wonder education for kids suck ... they can't read or do basic math ... they spent all their time in class on phones.

There’s a real undercurrent of resentment from this man. He’s holding it back in the first hour. He resented any authority stepping into his home and telling him how to handle his children. They told him to send them to school, he refused. They said get them counselling, he refused. They said restrict access to weapons, he bought an AR for the kid. Most of all he hates their mother and blames her for everything. The mother asks him to get rid of the guns after an altercation, dad doubles down on the purchases and trips to gun range. He’s so stubborn that he could have probably taken a plea deal and gotten a couple years and probation but he’s going to do it his way because he thinks he’s always right and F authority. Kids never had a chance and I’m glad the others are in stable homes.

Something that really bothers me is that Marcee was giving Colt her meds. Those meds can affect people differently, I know from personal experience. Then Colin decided to just stop letting Colt having it, cold turkey, which can cause further serious problems. I also don't understand why Colin didn't take Colt to that facility in Athens. The grandmother was about to take Colt there with Marcee, but broke her hand. Colt was said to have been excited about going. None of these kids in that family deserved those two idiots for parents. Colt never had a chance.

Another school shooting. This is an American epidemic and the answer is not more guns. This is not a game. The father is scared of his son, pandering to him, he also didn't want the stigma of a mentally unwell child so he lives in denial and as a result other people's kids die. The father should be found guilty.

So are they going to go back to all the other shooters parents?

Sorry but as someone from the UK the fact that your Gov has done NOTHING in all these years about mass shootings is the clearest indication of a corrupt and uncivilised country no matter how you dress it up, covering a shit with glitter - it’s still a shit. All countries have their issues of course but the corruption now in plain site, the greed underpinning every system in America from food to healthcare to life in general is just jaw dropping I’m so incredibly sorry for all people murdered by guns, especially kids. It’s so upsetting and am scared for you all.
