I think if Breece was on a team that could maximize his full potential he’d be top 5 in the league. Maybe I’m biased because he’s a Jet but his fluidity and athleticism are extremely underrated imo. Put him in the right positions and he’ll dominate.

Breece is a weapon. His value and production is worth much more than some highly paid WRs. That's how I see it. Obviously, there is a market value, but even so, it's still half of what WRs make. This was a no brainer imo. And Mougey got the other reup contracts done over the summer.

I'm really glad for this, I feel breese is a genuine beast with correct support from a good qb and o-line, he ran hard when people knew we were running on 1st and 2nd down consistently last season 💚

Form a business standpoint this is pretty clever imo. You tag him, he can’t go to open market, now you can explore trades. Unless I’m wrong about trading a tagged player. Pretty smart move on Jets side. With that said I’d look to move him.

Another box checked for 2026. If the season goes south again it gives the Jets some trade capital at the deadline. Safe bet is that the Jets will be drafting a RB in later rounds

Monty trade may have played a part in the big tag over transition. A 4th plus something (a 7th and a garbage T that might not make the team). He might be traded before the draft. Should get more than the Monty deal. Maybe they needed more time to iron out details on a deal, but it feels like the Jets wanted to get something out of him "Free20"ing out the door.

Breece leaves next year..gives two or three productive seasons to a contender…he’s just another player for them. If he stays here…oversees this rebuild, and wants to be a part of that like G-dubs, he becomes a club legend. I know what sounds better
