Saw Skid Row live with Sebastian. Absolutely amazing. He was so affectionate with the guys and they kept pushing him away. It was obvious that Baz truly loved them. It’s heartbreaking how they betrayed him. He was a crazy kid and it’s been decades. Sebastian truly loved his fans and is willing to bury the hatchet to make the fans happy. Rob too. The other 3 guys refuse. I think it’s a power play. It takes a crazy fucker to front a band with the passion and intensity of Sebastian Bach. You can’t have one without the other. The original 5 were epic. If I were Baz, I would keep touring and giving us great shows and put Skid Row in his rear view mirror for good. After all? Skid Row is a cover band now and they don’t exist without Baz.

The perfect reunion would have been when Gnr reunited (sort of ) . They need Bach and they know it . And time is running out ......

The sad thing is that Snake and Bolan are operating off of the assumption that Sebastian is the same person that he was 30 years ago. They haven’t even sat down and had a conversation. Every time they’ve ever tried to approach each other it’s been through management and attorneys. I have a feeling that if the three of them sat down in a room and actually had a conversation a lot of these old bad feelings and a lot of the reasons why they hesitate to reunite would probably melt away. These guys haven’t had a conversation in 30 years so it baffles me that they would be so shortsighted as to assume that none of them have changed in 30 years. Because everybody knows that even though Sebastian is known for having a mouth from time to time, he’s actually a pretty nice guy and he’s grown up a lot since his days in Skid Row. And if there were ever going to be a chance for a reunion now would be the time. Sebastian can still sing the songs and he can still hit the high notes. Right now is the perfect time for a reunion tour and it’s what the fans want and it’s what they’ve been begging for for 30 years. And if what they say is true, that it’s all about the fans, then now would be the time to suck it up and give the fans what they want. Because the bottom line is this… Any reunion tour that doesn’t include Sebastian is going to be nothing more than a cheap imitation. Right now they have a Golden opportunity to go out and do a reunion tour, make enough money to comfortably retire and never pay a play another gig again if that’s what they wanna do, and go out on a high note and make the fans happy. Why they’re not doing it is baffling to me.

This is like if Axl Rose replaced Brian Johnson in AC/DC... oh wait, did that actually happen ten years ago?

I can hear him now arguing trying to get them to do Skid Row cover songs. I love it !

Be honest — did you give Thickskin a fair shot back in 2003? Or were you out the moment Sebastian left?

Thanks fellas for reviewing this record. I bought the cd when it came out but embarrassed to say I hardly listened to it, it’s been collecting dust all these years but you’ve motivated me to play it this weekend. Thank you!

When you have snake and Rachel writing songs, you always have the edge of writing another great album, BUT, they'll never have another frontman that demands the stage like Bas.

Loved the album and everything since. Loved Johnny live. He didn’t have that helium note several times a show like Sebastian. Fun fact: the first time I saw them with Johnny headlining, was at the same venue that I saw them headline with Sebastian the last time. So why are people dumb enough to think they would all of a sudden make more money and play bigger venues than they are right now?

Saw them on that Poison tour. Skid Row was awesome...Thickskin is a solid album.

Great video. Album was much more solid than many other bands at that time. It did vibe off the sound that was popular, so get Ryan's point, but it should have been accepted to be the comeback record for Skid Row. Like Patrick stated "Johnny left his mark!" Could not agree more. The songwriting was phenom!! Ghost could have been a hit!! and would have fit nicely along the radio playlist of Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox, etc.....

I like the record. Saw the band many times with Solinger. Always a great show. Only saw the band once with Bas. It was amazing!

Skid Row are a joke at this point with how many different singers? 7-8?

I loved Skid Row so much. This album was hard for me because I loved Sebastian so much. I kind of followed Sebastian's stuff more than Skid Row. I went back and got Thickskin a couple of years after it came out. I did get Prunella Scales, and I really didn't like that, so I actually think that hurt Skid Row for me. Probably wasn't fair, but as I look back, I think I gave up. I did see Ozone Monday with Kiss, and I was like, man, I miss Skid Row with Bach. I truly understand now why they don't do the reunion thing. I really loved "The Gang's All Here". I did like that Frameshift album that Bas did. I know he hates it, but I like it.
