What a shame that I had to listen to Bill when I really wanted to hear Billy‘s stories!
I truly wanted to hear Billy talk more about himself rather than a Beatles history lesson.
Wow, I didn''t learn anything from Billy Idol.

Bill never stops interrupting
This was a wreck. Bill didn't let him get out a thought.
Wow. Bill could've had a picture of Billy in the chair for this one because he couldn't get a word in. It was polite of him to sit through this.

Excellent, Billy Idol is the fountain of youth, he's not afraid to live & enjoy his life! What a treasure❤ Wish u would have talked more abt him & his music but I will definitely watching, probably several times, his documentary, going to be SOOOO GOOD❤ Thanks Bill. Bill Maher is such an arrogant S.O.B. If it weren't for wanting to hear some of his guests, I would NEVER watch him. Then I watch, and he talks over his guests constantly, and just bounces from topic to topic like Frogger. How many topics did he start and never finish, and we still have no idea of what his guest thinks about the topic? Why does he have guests anyway, when all he wants is to hear the sound of his own voice?
Yeah, Maher just ruined this whole conversation. So frustrating. The whole feeling you have during the whole interview is why is he interrupting Billy all the time let him finish a freaking sentence. Who cares if you didn’t like love me do I do like Billy does, Billy he gets it? He understands it’s early and not as complex as their later stuff, but we all know that,, but it was still great. ‘Would I rather listen to from me to you or day in the life?’ What a stupid idiotic comment. He is not thinking in the big picture like Billy Idol is or any of us halfway intelligent people who care about the Beatles are, Maher just trying to act all cutting edge like he’s not gonna buy into that every Beatles song is a great thing because he’s so individualistic and smart. Barf 🙄
For being such a Beatles fan Maher has no clue about the Beatles and Paul and John!!!!

I agree with Billy Love me Do is all about the Harp.
Pissing me off - Billy saying the Harp was great - Which it was -- Bill counters by saying it was no good - he hates the Harp - Well - I hold Billy's opinion that it was great
Doesn't like the Harp in LOVE ME DO ? - He has no ear for music - The Harp is classic on that

Lennon and McCartney are both insanely talented. They were a team. Why debate, just enjoy!
Both greatest songwriters/composers/artists/influencers of sll time
I probably love more of the 'John' songs but Paul is my favourite of the Beatles, 100% According to George Martin, Paul was the one most interested in experimenting with sounds in the studio (Tomorrow Never Knows is my favourite song, and is technically Johns, but wouldnt be what it is without Paul and his work with tape loops) His skill with so many different instruments and his interest in working with different instruments outside of guitars and drums such as with solely strings on Eleanor Rigby and an entire orchestra at end of Day in the Life. Paul was the one who came up with the idea of Sgt Pepper as a concept, who had them do Magical Mystery Tour, who really pushed for them to work hard after Brian Epstein died. I love Johns voice, but Paul is a chameleon with his voice- he sounds like 10 different people- the guy who sings 'I will' is also the guy who sings 'why dont we do it in the road,' '1985' 'Golden Slumbers?' Insane. Genius songwriters, and players, but I dont think we would have as much back catalogue nor as eclectic without the push Paul gave the band.

Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane is another call/response Lennon/McCartney thing. Billy is spot-on about Lennon's Starting Over being influenced by Elvis as hearing Queen's Elvis-inspired song Crazy Little Thing Called Love (along with Paul's Coming Up) brought Lennon out of his five-year self-imposed exile from the music business.
Paul and John certainly wrote a lot of great songs post-Beatles, but they also wrote some crap too. They were each other's best editors/critics and there was a healthy competition to produce quality songs that was really missed after the band broke up.
Well both John and Paul said that they knew the beatles were done with out George Martin. They were lost without a manager to polish the product that they make. John's lyrics imo were fewer and more repetitively used. And he was an issue artist whose music would reflect a cause or a belief. Where Paul I think had more elements to it. His songs had a lot of love song drama in them. I think John was the better singer. A lot of his unique voice came from that nose of his lol. Put a lot of good nasal tones in there. But I think John had a better nack for coming up with instrumental rifts. So I guess they filled each others gaps pretty well. But Billy Idol's point of them making songs in answering to each other, idk about their earlier stuff but of course with their solo work. They were bitter with each other and it's well known that they used some of their songs to spite each other. But I remember even George was saying that at the end of the Beatles that "The Beatles" really just cemented itself as it's own thing. That their work got away from them. There was a "Beatles sound" that they just started having trouble replicating especially without John. But it's like no matter what any of them did post that era would never rival the stuff they did as the "Beatles" I also felt that a lot of Paul's stuff in the 80's was kind of too influenced by other 80's sounds of that time. I'm not really talking about the wings stuff so much but I just feel like it stopped becoming "Paul originals" but more like "John Chameleon" songs which just kind of blended ....blandly ... with basic 80's stylization and lacked unique creativity. But I always admire people like Paul and Ringo and George who despite having all the money and fame in the world, they keep making new stuff. They keep doing performances. Started other bands. Etc.. They stay engaged with their fans and do appearances. When they could just be sitting in a hot tub all day behind gated walls living a life of comfort and peace.
ビートルズの初期のヒット曲(例:Love Me Do)の評価や、その後の楽曲との比較を知りたい
I agree with Maher on "Love Me Do". It's of historical interest because of the incredible songs that The Beatles would do after it, but as a song itself it's not even "ok". The harmonica is fine if you like harmonica, and the vocals are nice because you it sounds like the early Beatles. It's a very weak song though; it makes "Little Child" seem like "Strawberry Fields Forever" in comparison.
Bill Maher is so full of $hit ... I would MUCH rather listen to "From Me To You" on a regular basis than "Day in the Life." Just a more "listenable," sweet tune that fits in ... the other song is definitely a great piece, but it's not really a "song" you want to hear at a sock hop or on the radio riding around in the summer .... And, Bill is so in love with hearing his own voice.
Bill could have not been more wrong saying McCartney was on another level than John Lennon! Ridiculous statement but everyone has an opinion. I think they were equal but I was more a Lennon guy..
