Minor theories: (1) Remember that one of Dr. Octopus' tentacles got severed by Green Goblin? When he returned home, we never see him pick up the severed tentacle, possibly leaving it behind. Someone (either DODC, the thinkerer, or someone else) could've gotten that tentacle and used it as a blueprint to make Scorpion's tail. Afterall, it has AI and nanotechnology on it. And that Scorpion's tail kinda moves like Doc Ock's arms (2) Sometimes trailers are leaving out something that appears in the actual movie. What if the thing that moves from people to people is Venom that was left in Mexico who somehow managed to get to New York. Afterall, due to the hivemind, he's seeking out Spiderman as he already knew he's the perfect host for it. (3) As for the Man-Spider, what if: (a) he's DNA is acting up due to Venom's influence (farfetched theory) (b) maybe he got poisoned by Scorpion and that poison is the catalysts for his DNA to start changing him to counteract it. (c) Since mutants are becoming a thing in the MCU, what if this is just Peter's mutation starting to evolve him. What if the spider bite just gave him enhanced capabilities but his X-gene mutation is actually to become Man-Spider. Feel free to correct me, as I'm a casual viewer.
