Jasmine Crockett didn’t lose because she is a black woman. That’s such an oversimplification that shows people don’t understand politics. These comments only prove the point. You want to talk about “entitlement,” look no further than Crockett’s idea that if you criticize her, you’re racist. That even if you’re black person, you’ve somehow internalized white supremacy, and that’s why you don’t support her. Because how could anyone say anything negative about Crockett unless they are racist or somehow influenced by racism? She even twisted Talarico’s words to make it seem like he made a racist comment, but he never called Allred a “mediocre black man.” That was a lie, and she knows that. When Talarico’s interview with Stephen Colbert wasn’t allowed to be aired, Crockett got jealous of the attention he was receiving, so she falsely claimed that Talarico’s campaign was making the whole thing up. Really nasty stuff. As naturally talented as Crockett is, she exposed herself as a weak campaigner in this race. She didn’t even have an issues page on her website until a few weeks ago when people called her out on it, and that’s telling. Rather than running an issues based campaign, it was all about herself. People began to realize that she was all style with very little substance. Whether Talarico is more progressive than her is almost beside the point. Talarico is more interested in outreach to independents and disaffected voters with a unifying message. Crockett’s whole attitude is like, “If you don’t support us, there’s something wrong with you,” which is typical of establishment Dems. At a time when most Democratic voters are dissatisfied with the state of the party, Crockett is a total loyalist who will never admit that any of her fellow Democrats have made mistakes. As outspoken as she is, she has no interest in diagnosing any of the real problems within the party. I don’t know if Crockett has a bright future in politics after this devastating loss, but she certainly is talented. Despite all the nastiness and lack of substance, I still appreciate her fighting spirit, and I’m still rooting for her to succeed in whatever she chooses to do next. EDIT: Also, most people are not thinking that a black woman can’t win in that district, or that a white man would automatically have a better chance of winning. I still believe that Crockett had a shot at beating the Republican. And I think that a different black woman—perhaps a Summer Lee type—could stand an even better chance of winning in that type of district.

If someone is too dumb to show up at the correct voting location based on their address, then they’re too dumb to be voting on things that impact the rest of us. It isn’t complicated. My location has been the same since I moved here 15 years ago.

Why do we keep thinking that people can’t be to the polls by 7 PM if that’s the end time? What is so hard to understand that if you want to vote you have to be there on time and if you come after time is up your vote, doesn’t count. Doesn’t matter who’s a head or behind at that particular moment. We need to stop people from extending voting time just because they know they’re behind in the race.

Pp, keeps saying, VOTE EARLY and folks keep voting the day of. Doors get locked. Voter registration isn’t valid. Polling stations get swatted. SMH!

Crockett wld beat the Rep primary. Black voter suppression is historical. You cannot argue against that unless you dont understand history and politics- sorry 😐. This is ridiculous! They are trying to discourage voting in some precincts. Keep in mind that Greg Abbott gave the Trump regime Texas voter rolls. I’ve already seen Black voters and women voters discovering their voter registration is no longer valid after arriving at the polls.

I am disappointed but not surprised to see that despite everything Trump has done to destroy democracy and the country a lot of Caucasians are still stuck in that neanderthal mindset of "white person good, black person bad". The opposition that Jasmine Crockett faced from "leftist" Caucasians has really shown that America will never change, it is permanently stuck in the destructive mindset of ignorance and racism. The unrepentant and relentless prejudice and racism of Caucasians will bring the eternal downfall of America.

So I saw that Talerico was winning over Jasmine and that Talerico was more popular in the Español community. The problem is winning black people show up, our brown brothers and sisters vote against their best interests. Texas will not flip blue with Talerico. Black Texans are not going to the poll to vote for Talerico; for this reason, Coryn will keep his seat.
