Detailed analysis of potential NBA expansion cities beyond Seattle and Las Vegas, including their historical context, market viability, and specific challenges (e.g., arena issues, local support).

Discussion on the potential impact of NBA expansion on league parity, tanking, and the overall quality of play, with concrete examples and proposed solutions.
Relegation is the only thing that can truly solve tanking and it’s never happening
PWHL draft lottery system. Everyone say it with me. Make draft order be determined by wins for playoff eliminated teams, not losses.
So 1/3 of the league has a chance at the title, 1/3 are middling teams either on the come up or come down, and 1/3 have no chance and aren't pretending otherwise. I don't see how this is worse than the 4-5 years of knowing it is going to be the Warriors from the west and the 8-9 years of knowing it would be the LeBron team from the East. I get the feeling that the Sonics and the Vegas team are going to try their best to not be a tanking team. Expansion worked fine for the NFL and NHL. The league will be fine.
Historical context and fan sentiment regarding the return of the Seattle SuperSonics, including the impact of their departure and the anticipation for their comeback.
Vancouver never got a fair chance
I didn’t realize Vancouver only had a team for six years, that is totally nuts !!!!!
I think Vancouver was rushed in before the start of the inaugural season. The city and franchise were not prepared and not have a chance to develop.
Exploration of the financial and logistical aspects of NBA expansion, including expansion fees, arena development, and the economic impact on host cities.
Vancouver is amazing but always has arena issues. Land is so pricy. The Canucks can’t even get a practice facility.
Canadian Dollar is still only worth 73 cents of the US Dollar
In my opinion, cities like Nashville, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Vancouver would provide far stronger and more sustainable fan bases than Las Vegas. Awarding a franchise to Las Vegas feels driven more by financial incentives than by long-term fan engagement and community support. Relying heavily on tourism to fill arenas is a risky strategy, especially for a sport like basketball that depends on consistent local attendance throughout a long season. Having lived in Las Vegas for 10 years, I’ve seen firsthand how tourism fluctuates—particularly during the early part of the NBA season when visitor traffic tends to slow down. During those periods, maintaining strong attendance, especially for a struggling team, could become a significant challenge. Looking ahead, I believe this model may not be sustainable over the long term. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if, 20 years from now, Las Vegas struggles to maintain multiple professional sports franchises. While the idea may seem appealing on the surface, I view it as a short-term, profit-driven decision rather than a sound long-term investment in a dedicated sports market.
Analysis of specific player snubs or inclusions in All-Defensive teams, with detailed justifications and comparisons.
Stephon Castle should definitely be on an All-Defensive team for this season.
Steph Castle snubbed, no way he ain’t one of the top 15 defensive players in the league!
Not having dyson or stephon is CRAZY
Exploration of alternative solutions to tanking in the NBA beyond expansion, such as changes to the lottery system, season length, or draft rules.
Relegation is the only thing that can truly solve tanking and it’s never happening
PWHL draft lottery system. Everyone say it with me. Make draft order be determined by wins for playoff eliminated teams, not losses.
Part of the way to fix tanking would be to just shorten the season. 82 games is too many.
Discussion on potential NBA rivalries that could emerge with expansion teams, particularly focusing on existing regional or historical matchups.

Sonics Thunder rivalry will feed generations
Blazers vs Sonics rivalry is coming back
Analysis of the sustainability and long-term viability of Las Vegas as an NBA market, considering its reliance on tourism and potential competition with other sports.

I'm just mad the Western Conference gets two new teams. Las Vegas doesn't need a team bro.😊
What happens in Vegas is recorded by 50 buffoons with a phone on a stick😂
Discussion on the potential impact of expansion on player development and the overall talent pool, including concerns about diluting talent.
Your argument doesn't hold water. What you're describing how every league workd. Roughly 1/3 are quality teams, 1/3 are middling teams and 1/3 are bad teams. It doesn't matter how many teams are in the league, it's always going to split along those lines. So, if you add two teams on the bottom it tends to push a team or two up into the middle, which in turn can push a team or two up into the quality team ranks. Go back and look at any expansion in any of the Big 4 (or even MLS). It doesn't result in more overall bad teams. It actually shortens the windows for some formerly bad teams to get good.
2 things can be true at once: tanking with good teams needs to be addressed/corrected and we have enough deep talent to add 2 new teams. Currently taking with GOOD teams: - Jazz - Pacers (went to finals game 7 last year) - Wizards (have Trae Young and AD, with Sare and Tre Johnson) - Pelicans (have Zion, Dejounte, Tre Murphy, Jordan Poole, Jeremiah Fears, Derik Queen) - Kings (have Sabonis, Derozan. LaVine, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray, De’andre Hunter) - Mavericks (have ROY Cooper Flagg, Klay Thompson, Lively, Gafford, PJ Washington)
Clarification on the historical lineage and records of relocated teams, specifically regarding the Seattle SuperSonics and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Seattle not only needs to be the SuperSonics again, but OKC should give their history back to Seattle. I mean, the OKC Thunder have themselves a pretty good NBA history in their brief history as OKC Thunder & their future is fantastic. They don't need the Sonics history anymore.
Does this mean the championship the Thunder won last year doesn’t count as part of Seattle’s lineage?
The funniest thing about this is that they will give the new supersonics the record of the old ones. American sports, every team is a McDonald's, no tradition, no meaning.
