Understanding the health implications and scientific consensus regarding permanent Standard Time vs. permanent Daylight Saving Time.

Of course they had to go and pick the wrong time. Experts agree that Standard Time is better for health.

Wait til it's still dark at 9am in the middle of winter! They should have stuck with Standard Time instead of Daylight Savings Time. Just one roadside worker's humble opinion...

Stupid. Stop the changes but fix it on Pacific STANDARD Time. The sun should be south at noon not 1pm.

3

Information on how permanent Daylight Saving Time will affect sunrise and sunset times during winter months, particularly in northern latitudes.

強い要望その他10件のコメントから抽出

It will be interesting to see how much people like daylight savings time when sunrise is at 9:00 a.m. in December.

Northern and interior bc won’t be light until 10am in December… How lovely

Winter is going to be weird. This means the sun will not come up until after 9 AM at midwinter in Victoria.

4

Clarification on which parts of BC will remain on Mountain Time and how this affects time zone coordination.

What about the east part of BC that is on mountain time?

So half time were pacific time the other half were mountain time. Thats a bit weird.

I live in mountain time part of b.c. now they say mountain time is not included but meanwhile I live in b.c. I if thas the case why are we not part of alberta.

5

Explanation of why BC is adopting permanent Daylight Saving Time and not permanent Standard Time, and the rationale behind this specific choice.

強い要望比較・違い7件のコメントから抽出

If it’s for the better of BC why change the time once again and leave it the way it is without changing it?

Standard time would have made more sense ….. ..

That’s not ending daylight saving time it’s permanent daylight saving time. We need permanent standard time aka the time we keep in the winter months because that’s what our time zones are more closely drawn to.

Comparison of permanent Daylight Saving Time with permanent Standard Time, including pros and cons for different regions or lifestyles.

Stupid. Stop the changes but fix it on Pacific STANDARD Time. The sun should be south at noon not 1pm.

DAYLIGHT TIME is the clear winner in my books. Those late sunsets in summer are part of what make Alberta summers so awesome. So what if the sun comes up a little later in winter most of us are inside anyways.

I don’t know why we just don’t go back to standard time all the time. Winter is dark, it’s supposed to be. It would make evenings cooler and easier to sleep in the summer, especially as most people are getting A/C and running it into the night. Noon should be noon.

7

Discussion on the potential impact of permanent Daylight Saving Time on daily routines, work, and travel, especially for those with specific schedules or in different time zones.

中程度その他5件のコメントから抽出

I remeber my first job interview, the manager is one hour late because he forgot to change the time.

I have a very strong internal clock. The time shifts messes me up for a week after it changes

having lived in arizona i need everyone to get on board with this. make sure you are in the same time zone as your chief trade partner, if your giant split up based on vaguely centroid correlating to that time zones biggest trade capital and square up. We are pattern based organisms, it makes normies with normal circadians foolishly early or late or a week, but if your non-24 off rip , say good bye to a month pattern shifting and just so much sleep meds.

8

Clarification on whether smartphones and atomic clocks will automatically adjust to the new permanent time system.

中程度使い方・手順3件のコメントから抽出

So what’s going to happen with watches that get set by the Atomic clock which for us is out of Denver ? My watch sets to LA time , there is no Vancouver time setting . And why Daylight and instead of Standard ?

I hope my smartphone gets the time change correct seeing how much I depend on it.....

Does this mean all the smartphones won't automatically change the time as well? fingers crossed since we are so used to having our Smartphones automatically change daylight savings imagine our smartphones still automatically change on its own?

9

Information on whether a referendum or public consultation was held regarding the decision to adopt permanent Daylight Saving Time.

中程度実証・検証3件のコメントから抽出

We should be on standard time not daylight savings time. And yes why didn't we have a referendum?

Was there a referendum on this?

We should be having a referendum on going to a permanent time year round instead of separation. The last one was worded horribly. We can figure out later whether it’s standard time or daylight savings time.

10

Details on the specific date and year (2026) when the permanent Daylight Saving Time will fully take effect.

軽度使い方・手順3件のコメントから抽出

Northeastern BC hasn’t changed our clocks for my entire life. We last switched in 1972. On March 8th the rest of BC will be on the same time as us permanently.

After the clock changes on the 8 March 2026 This means eliminating the clock change on Sunday 1 November 2026 Vancouver will have a sunrise at 9:07am and sunset will be 5:23pm on the 31 December 2026 The sun will rise and set 1 hour later from the 8 March onwards

Had to rub it in huh?…..At this rate by the time it kicks in I will so old it wont matter how much daylight I have, I will just be happy to wake up in the morning.
