In RCB’s auction planning videos, they mentioned targeting Mangesh Yadav and Jacob Duffy as backups for Yash Dayal and Hazlewood. The main selection doubts are: DDP vs Venky Iyer , team balance matters. Right now, Salt and Rajat are not in great form, and we shouldn’t depend only on Kohli and the finishers again. If we pick Venkatesh Iyer, it could add more pressure on them. So choosing DDP gives more stability in the top order and reduces that burden because DDP is doing good from last season and he improved his game , Jacob Bethell vs Shepherd Based on the auction strategy, RCB wanted a No. 5 batter who can stabilize if the top order collapses. Bethell fits that role and has done well in that position for England in bilateral series. Shepherd adds a pace option, but having three finishers in the 12 may not be ideal. His bowling could still be useful if Mangesh or Duffy don’t perform. Overall, I choose DDP ( his form.is Good as compared to Venky) and Bethell over Venky Iyer and Shepherd.
