This was easily the highlight of the oscars. This man has been putting in the work for so long and is such a genuinely good human that you want to root for him. Well deserved!

In defense of Wicked being shut out completely, it’s incredibly funny that the world almost immediately forgot about Wicked again the second non-broadway fans found out what act 2 was like.

i see what you mean about i lied to you from sinners not being something you’d put on a playlist and listen to independently, but i think the best original song category has always been very audiovisual. i mean it’s not the grammys, it’s not necessarily what’s the best song independent of the film, it’s how that song is used in the film, what it represents in the film, etc. and so while i like golden this is why i lied to you is the best in the category for me

The one listening to I Lied To You on its own without the scene is me. That's me. Literally my most listened to song of all of last year

‘Is I lied to you really the best song of the movie’ It’s literally the most defining song of the entire movie, as well as a great song that puts together all of black history with its instruments and mixing. There is a better song in the movie, Last Time ( I seen the Sun), that ends the movie with a good song that represents the film, but I Lied to You is a great song in itself.
